The story of Holmegaard began in 1825 when a countess received special permission from the King of Denmark to build a glassworks factory. Initially only creating green bottles, the glassworks establishment was eventually able to create clear glass tumblers with the expertise of Bohemian glassblowers. Fast forward to today and Holmegaard continues to create beautiful Danish glassware — both mouth- and machine-blown — for the bar, table, and home. With the help of an impressive group of designers and artists, their pieces are still as timeless as ever.
